Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains honored citizens and organizations in the Hanover/Lebanon, NH area. The award celebrates exceptional personal and corporate contributions to our community as demonstrated through civic responsibility. The Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains hosted the luncheon that honored citizens of distinction Marilyn “Willy” Black and Dartmouth-Hitchcock of Lebanon, NH. Willy Black has been a Girl Scout for over 50 years. Growing up in Pennsylvania, Black joined a Brownie Girl Scout troop as a child and enjoyed many adventures as a girl member through her Senior Girl Scout years. She’d go on to serve as a longtime troop leader during adulthood. Black said she has many fond childhood memories from attending Girl Scout camp each summer, which inspired her to volunteer her time with local Girl Scout troops when she reached college. Arriving in New Hampshire after college, Girl Scouts continued to hold a special place in her heart and ultimately inspired her life’s work. Dartmouth-Hitchcock is this year’s corporate honoree.
