Jules Chatot and Jennifer Darling of Banwell Architects attended the 2013 Best Practices Conference on School Operations, Finance and Business Leadership on September 26th and 27th. The annual two-day statewide work session included presentations of best practices in developing general leadership practices, living with limited resources, management of risk, presenting and marketing school budgets, new national health insurance issues, financial management, emergency planning, facility design and management practices, bond issues and other timely topics. Presentations centered on new developments in: collective bargaining, state law, auditing requirements, data collection, state financing practices, lease purchases, Department of Revenue Administration, federal funding and the sharing of successful Best Practices.
