Nine days of heat, bugs and nightly rain will put any camper on edge. Coupled with the exhaustion that comes from 100 miles of wilderness canoeing, and you have a recipe for a really bad vacation. Tempers can easily flare and essential cooperation can erode. Assembling the right group for such an endeavor is the only difference between disaster, and a fun trip. So even though my Allagash Wilderness Waterway adventure was less than ideal last summer, we still had a lot of laughs, and powered through the obstacles. We were a real team, with everyone giving their best attitude and effort.
Having the right partners is the difference between laughs and misery and sometimes life and death out in the wilderness. For design and building projects, the same can be true.
